Cedars Midwifery Practice is looking for a dedicated Registered Midwife or New Registrant to join the practice in Northeast Edmonton. We are a currently One Midwife practice and seeking midwife(s) to form a team.

About Us

Cedars Midwifery Practice has been in operation since 2018 as a satellite practice to other established Midwifery practices around Edmonton and we have now been approved to operate as an independent Midwifery Practice serving Northeast Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Morinville, Gibbons and other adjourning communities and towns around North of Edmonton.

We are committed to providing supportive, low-intervention labor and birth experiences. We emphasize a holistic and natural approach to pregnancy, including prenatal care, labor, delivery support, and postpartum care for both mother and baby.

We offer continuity of care and choice of birthplace, whether at a hospital, birth center or home.

We provide a Supportive Work Environment – We plan to build a formidable and supportive team that will enhance the delivery of better midwifery care and enable a healthy work-life balance and support structures for the team members.

Flexible Start Date – We are prepared to work around your availability for your commencement with us and schedule the onboarding session based on mutual availability.

Call Schedule – We plan to run the team on a supported solo basis with strong collaborative partnership and expectation of team members acting as second midwife and support systems to each other. Birth

Settings – We hold admitting privileges in many hospitals including Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital, Sturgeon Community Hospital, Royal Alexander Hospital and many other hospital sites including birthing centres.

We are seeking a midwife who is a Team player, collaborative, adaptable and passionate about the rights of mothers to delivery of their choices based on informed decisions.

Common Skills & Qualifications

• Strong clinical skills in prenatal, birth, and postpartum care

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Experience or willingness to work in rural or remote settings

• Commitment to culturally competent and trauma-informed care • Problem-solving and adaptability in high-pressure situations

• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
