Alberta Association of Midwives Celebrates Midwives and Inclusive Birthing Care

The Alberta Association of Midwives (AAM) joyfully celebrates the vibrant community of midwives and the flourishing midwifery profession in Alberta. Committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and inclusive perinatal, pregnancy, and birthing care, Registered Midwives have been primary healthcare providers since 2009, delivering essential services to all birthing people. 

As devoted duty bearers, the AAM upholds a steadfast commitment to fostering a culture of acceptance and support within the realm of healthcare. Inclusivity is a cornerstone of our values, and we celebrate the rich diversity of all families. 

Recognizing the profound importance of respect and dignity in healthcare, the AAM embraces every birthing person, ensuring that our services are accessible and affirming to all. Our dedication to inclusive care extends beyond the birth space, weaving into the fabric of our values as we champion justice, equity, and respect for every individual's unique journey. 

In partnership with the entire community, the AAM stands in strong support of initiatives that promote accessibility in healthcare settings and endorses policies prioritizing the well-being of all. Specifically, we support Alberta midwives in providing inclusive gender-affirming care, advocating for all family configurations under the LGBTQIA2S+ umbrella.
